Macra na Feirme is a vibrant, independent, non-profit, national
voluntary organisation for rural young people and young farmers

consists of a nationwide network of clubs which support a range of
activities in agriculture, sport, travel, public speaking and
performing arts.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
A full time stand alone post for the organisation, a key aspect of
this role entails planning and partnering with Macra na Feirme
managers to support the management of people and development to ensure
we have the confidence, competence and capabilities to achieve our
mission.
* The HR manager will support Macra na Feirme to develop by providing
access to training and knowledge in key employment and HR areas and
other capacity building initiatives.
* The HR manager will strive for excellent in compliance ensuring
all policies, procedures and practices are following the Best Practice
Guidelines.
* The HR manager will support and educate the People Managers, Sub
Committees and Board of Directors on HR Best Practices.
* The HR Manager will have responsibility for the Learning and
Development initiatives of Macra na Feirme including line management
of the Macra Agricultural Skillnet Manager and team.
* The HR Manager will implement and champion annual HR programmes of
work in areas of engagement, wellbeing, diversity & inclusion,
performance management, talent and workforce planning and HR data/
systems improvement.
* The HR Manager will proactively build strong working relationships
with managers and employees ensuring the delivery of an effective and
professional end to end HR experience.
* HR Manager will actively counsel managers and employee on relevant
matters as the need arises. Advise managers and employees regarding
opportunities and risks relating to actions that may impact the
employment relationship.
* The HR Manager will coach and train managers on providing
feedback, having difficult conversations, employee development,
addressing poor performance and all other aspects of people management
* Carry out relevant meetings in accordance with employee resolution
policies
* The HR Manager will work closely with the payroll department to
ensure payroll amendments processing including reporting of salary
changes, new starters, leavers, sick leave, maternity leave etc.
Respond to queries and administration in relation to compensation and
benefits.
* The HR Manager will manage all recruitment and selection from end
to Assist with in line with resourcing requirements and monitor
resourcing data and metrics to identify trends and anticipate issues
or changing needs that feed into the workforce planning process.
* The HR Manager will design and manage on-boarding and induction
specific to each new hire.
* The HR Manager will support Probationary Reviews.
* Oversee the ongoing development and implementation of Macra na
Feirme?s Performance Management & Development System.
* Ensure adequate process and procedures are in place to support the
Performance Management system including documentation and evidence
gathering
PERSON SPECIFICATION
_QUALIFICATIONS_
This is a senior post. A relevant third level degree, preferably
Masters, and at least 5 years? experience in a similar manager role
or business partner role is required. Membership of the CIPD is
desirable.
